Bean Seeds, Calypso heirloom

Bean Seeds, Calypso heirloom

Another heirloom bean that is delicious dried to make into baked beans or in soups and stews (see also Arikara Yellow). Round black-and-white seeds are also called "Orca" or "Ying Yang" beans. They are fun to look at. When they are cooked the black turns into a deep pink (much like a kidney bean). This is a bush variety of bean. It averages 4-5 seeds per pod. Very adaptable to different growing zones. This is the cutest bean on either side of the Mississippi.
