Uses for this Plant

Climate Adaptive Qualities

This corn is named after the Native American Mandan tribe, from North Dakota. Imagine cobs with kernels painted in colors of the evening sky – red, blue, pink, orange, even tranquil jade. Standing tall, each stalk ranges grows to approximately six feet with six to eight inch corn cobs.

This corn held great purpose as both ornamental and nutritional once ground into cornmeal. It was planted alongside the gardens of Native Americans, serving as both a shield and a sentinel, creating boundaries and structure for climbing vegetables with natural grace. And in this, there's even deeper wisdom to be found, one that speaks of companionship among Earth's children. This corn, strong and resolute, lends its support to beans and squash, becoming an enduring pillar in the dance of the Three Sisters.

In the whispers of the wind and the rustle of leaves, this Mandan corn recreates tales of life, of unity, and of a sacred connection to the earth held by Native Americans.

It's a legacy, a reminder that in each kernel lies the heartbeat of generations past and the promise of generations yet to come. 🌽🌾
