Tomato Seeds, Amish Paste

Tomato Seeds, Amish Paste

Amish Paste tomatoes not only grow much larger than a person would ever expect a paste tomato to grow, but their taste changes slightly throughout the summer. Try them. I do think you will like how many tomatoes you get from one plant, but also how easy they are to can, add to sauces, or simply eat fresh from the garden.

Bright red 8 - 12 ounce fruits are plum form. The heirloom seeds originally were passed down from the Amish people in Lancaster, Pennsylvania which is how they got their heirloom name.

The Amish Paste tomato is a Slow Foods USA selection for Ark of Taste varieties to save and pass down through generations.

Sow seeds inside 6 - 8 weeks before last frost date for your growing zone. Once the seedlings are established and frost warnings have passed, transplant to garden. Plant about 2 to 3 feet apart. Remember to stake, trellis or cage to support the tomato plant as it grows. Prune once the plant has reached a few feet tall.

Amish Paste heirloom tomatoes are an indeterminate tomato plant, which grows between 4 to 6 feet in height. They require full sun and moderate watering.
