Ground Cherry Seeds, Loewen Family Heirloom

Ground Cherry Seeds, Loewen Family Heirloom

This is one of my favorite varieties of Ground Cherries. We grew these when I was a kid and my Mom and I made jelly out of them. Also known as Husk Tomato and regarded as a delicacy by the American Pilgrims.

Tasty, cherry-sized fruits grow inside papery husks. The fruit is enjoyed fresh, dried, and in pies and preserves. Can be stored well into the winter if kept in the husk in a cool, dry place.

This variety is HIGHLY productive, but please be patient for them to germinate as they tend to take a few weeks; however once they get going even 1 plant is enough for a pie and a few jellies.

Packets: 25, 50 seeds
