Care Guide

Uses for this Plant

Climate Adaptive Qualities

Orange Flash Calendula should really be called peach-pink-orange Calendula and they are hard to capture in pictures. With 1 - 1 1/2 inch blooms they can turn from light orange to pink to apricot. Their petals are fully edible and dry nicely.

TIP: Harvest when flowers are not fully blooming if you want to dry Calendula for their edible petals. Then as they are drying it will be easier to pull the petals from the flower for storing.

Directions: Direct seeding once all danger of frost has passed is recommended for Calendula. You can start them indoors if you want earlier blooms 4 - 6 weeks before before last frost date in your area, then when getting to transplant outdoors harden plants and transplant.

Sow 6 - 8 before last frost inside
Germinates in 5 - 15 days
Plant Outdoors after all signs of frost have past about 16 - 18" apart
Grows to 24"
Prefers full sun but can grow in partial shade and tolerates dry conditions very well
