Flower seeds, Dahlia Giant Hybrid mix

Flower seeds, Dahlia Giant Hybrid mix

If you want a few varieties of Dahlias to start this year, try this blend. It is a mix of colors and shapes. Honestly, there really cannot be enough flowers planted. If you do start Dahlias from seed, check to see if you have tubers in the Fall before the first frost and dig the tubers out of the ground and store in a cardboard box in the basement or other cool place. Then replant and keep expanding your Dahlia empire.

I tend to let Dahlias grow to tubers and start from seed when I can, so it makes sense to share. These were not grown on our urban farm but they are very healthy and beautiful with high germination rates (tested).

TIP: Stake dahlias if they begin to grow large and cannot support themselves. Cut flowers throughout summer and watch more blooms appear.
