Climate Adaptive Qualities
Radio Calendula flowers are easy to grow almost anywhere and they prefer full sun, but also grow easily in partial shade. This variety of Calendula is a called Radio and they are vivid orange, wow, are they vivid. They grow from pale orange to a pop of almost fluorescent orange. The flower heads have quill-like petals and bloom from early summer until fall. The stems grow to 18-24" tall and the flowers are approximately 2-3" in diameter. These seeds are chemically untreated and easy-to-grow.
Packets: 15 (sampler), 25 seeds.
Directions:
Sow 6 - 8 before last frost inside. Harden plants gradually and then transplant outdoors. Can also be sown outdoors but wait until all signs of frost has disappeared and soil is 60 degrees F or more.
Germinates in 5 - 15 days
Seed depth: 1/4"
Plant: 16 - 18" apart
Prefers full sun but can grow in partial shade and tolerates dry conditions very well
