Climate Adaptive Qualities
Climate Adaptive Qualities
As you might have noticed we really prefer open pollinated heirloom seeds. :)
Genovese Basil seeds are easy to grow in a garden or on a patio in a pot. They also are delicious fresh with tomatoes or in a pasta sauce (pesto), and dried for the winter. This is a large-leafed basil with a deep fresh aroma. The plants grow to 18-24" and produce densely branched herb plants.
BASIL TIP: Whether you plant your herbs in containers or the garden, pinch the flower heads off as soon as you see them appearing as the flowers on basil plants toughen the leaves. Also, if you want a continuous harvest of basil throughout the summer, cut back a portion of the lplant (set them aside to dry if you cannot use them immediately) and watch as the plant continues to produce more basil.
